I grew up in southern Saskatchewan helping out m my Grandfather’s farm learning to operate machinery at a young age. I fell in love with the mountains and found aviation as a great way to go on adventures and explore new areas.
I started my flying career in 2002 in the Commercial Helicopter Industry and now Transport Canada and FAA, ATPL licensed and experienced on 16 aircraft types (Bell 47, Bell 205, Bell 206, Bell 212, Bell 214B, Bell 214ST, Bell 407, Bell 412, AS350, AW139, Hughes 300, Hughes 500, Robinson R44, Twinstar 355, BK117 and UH1F) working across Canada, USA, Australia, and Greece.
So far have logged 11,000+ hours of accident-free flying servicing a wide variety of Industries for both VFR and IFR operations (with plenty of mini careers within a career) and have held positions as a company Chief Pilot, Training Pilot, Safety Program Manager, and Line Pilot for multiple companies.
VFR flying experiences for operations such as firefighting, forestry, air ambulance, flood rescue, emergency evacuations, seismic, oil and gas, mining exploration, heli-skiing, power line, and precision construction operations. Over the years logging more hours looking down through a window moving cargo than looking through the front window.
IFR/Night experience on the Arctic North Warning System, exploration camps moving people and external loads over open sea ice, and STARS Air Ambulance in VFR, Night, NVG, and IFR conditions for medevac missions.
My experiences have taught me a lot over the years and enjoy sharing the things I have learned with others. My theme for the flight school is to share the love of aviation with others, to respect and appreciate the privilege of being a pilot moving people and or cargo wherever you are safe while enjoying the amazing office view.
