Our philosophy is simple: share our love and passion for aviation with the community. Whether it’s through flight lessons, scenic tours, or other events…our main goal remains the same.
We strive to deliver innovative, high quality, and advanced learning techniques to our students. We work hard to meet the diverse needs of our students and assist them in the development of attitudes and personal skills with our goal not only to meet the Transport Canada minimum requirements but to exceed them, which will create the strong foundation necessary for success in the aviation industry.

Lacombe is centrally located in Alberta between Calgary, Edmonton, and just north of Red Deer in Lacombe County. Our airport was established in 1963 and is located on the northeast edge of town making it part of the community, so we do our best to be involved with the local community. We host monthly BBQs to help educate and share the love of aviation while donating the proceeds to support local charity organizations.
The airport also has an amazing flying club with volunteer members that host numerous community events throughout the year that we partner with like the Lacombe Days pancake breakfast, COPA (Canadian Owners & Pilots Association) Discover Aviation, winter twinkle tours, etc.
Many aircraft owners happily hangar their aircraft here, and we are seeing constant growth at our airport. Lacombe itself flourishes with an exciting, historic downtown core. Old buildings filled with locally owned and operated restaurants, stores, and specialty shops. A sprawling trail system throughout town and around the multiple lakes gracing Lacombe, and so much more!
EVENTS
Circling back to our philosophy, community involvement is incredibly important at General Lee Aviation. Once a month we take a local non-profit under our wing, and host a fundraiser for them. Not only do they receive all the proceeds from the fundraisers, our events also draw a lot of people who then are introduced to the non-profit.
We can also be found volunteering at COPA events, such as our local COPA Flight Discover Aviation Day. General Lee is proud to sponsor the ground school training for the future aviators attending the event.
